Panda Bear Cookies
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed an unfortunate lack of bear face cookie cutters on the market today? The ones I’ve found are either way too big or way too small.
While I wait for someone to remedy this, I’m limited to using what I have. While I’ve been known to morph frog cutters into bear faces, this time around I wanted something a little “rounder”.
I used simple circle cutters to piece together these panda face cookies. When it comes to round cutters, I love sets like this one because I always have the size I need.
To keep things symmetrical, use the larger round cutter and a food safe marker to mark the curve of the ears before piping.
To make these cookies you will need:
- White piping and 20-second icing
- Black 20-second icing
Begin by outlining the face with a #2 tip. Use 20-second icing to add a snout.
One the icing has set {give it extra time if you have bleeding issues} use black icing to add jelly bean shaped patches where the eyes will be. After more drying time, flood the entire face.
Once the cookie is completely dry, add the finishing touches:
- Use black 20-second icing for ears
- Add a nose
- Use a small round tip to pipe eyes
For a more realistic looking panda, you could also drop sugar pearls into the wet black icing. Although I like both looks, I went for contrast this time around.
To complete the set, I mixed in other fun designs. For help with the other cookies in this collection, check out the following products and posts:

As always, it amazes me how several different designs can work together to create a beautiful collection of cookies.
