The Twelve Days of Christmas Cookie Project, Three French Hens
On the very late third day of Christmas my true love, Haniela, gave to me…three french hens. And what beautiful hens they are!
If you’ve already met Haniela {or Hani as she’s affectionately known by friends} then you wouldn’t expect anything less. However, if you’ve yet to visit her beautiful blog, Haniela’s, you need to get there as soon as you’re finished here.
I’m super excited to be part of the Callye’s Twelve Days of Christmas cookie project.
- Bird/duck cutter of any sort for the hen’s body.
- Small drop-shaped cutter for the wing.
- Candy cookie cutter for the flappy stuff on the hen’s head, let’s call it hen’s hat.
Using the bird, candy, and a small drop shape cutter, construct a hen shape cookie. You can use a little bit of water as a glue to hold the pieces together.
I also made a large round base and stools (using round cookie cutters) for each hen.
Decorate cookies as desired with royal icing.
Assemble the stools, using a dot of royal icing glue them together.
